How much muscle attractive
If they were an athlete it would be thin, most successful athletes at that height should be minimum and that's like 0 body fat in my opinion From a bodybuilders perspective, yes, it's super skinny.
You really couldn't even be aesthetically considered a bodybuilder at Maybe a physique competitor. For my aesthetic goals and potential to compete in the future, it would be considered far too skinny.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, but as somebody who used to be into bodybuilding and is still heavily into fitness, I say this: Asking questions like this is pointless. If you're going to work out or get in shape, whether it's to be more fit, more muscular, slimmer, whatever, do it FOR YOU!
The problem with getting in shape for other people is that your motivation will be reflected on other people and not yourself. If you train hard and build muscle but don't get the response from the ladies that you like, you're probably not going to stick with it.
Plus, working out for other people doesn't do much in improving your self confidence, whereas training for your own goals does. Besides, if you ask 10 different women how much muscle they like on men, you'll probably get 10 different answers. Some like the slimmer builds which are attributed more toward low bodyfat than muscle size. Others like bodybuilder-type bodies, some like powerlifting type bodies and some don't like any.
Work towards your own goals and build your body the way you want it to look, and know that there are different types of "fit" per your goals. I stopped bodybuilding because I got into boxing, and while I like lifting to keep my power up thus making my punches do more damage to my opponent, I had to slim down a lot in order to get faster and I had to really up my cardio because when I got started, I could only last a round or two tops on the heavy bag.
Work out for YOU, not for what you think women want. I workout and lift not because I want women to fall for my body, but because I want to knock my opponent out in the ring. It depends on the type of athlete. Originally Posted by Gatsby Originally Posted by PI Please register to post and access all features of our very popular forum. It is free and quick. This is common with attractiveness studies, and it comes with some advantages, such as keeping all of the factors constant except for the one being voted on. However, it also comes with some disadvantages, such as a lower degree of realism. To test the accuracy of these illustrations, I had my wife guess which degree of muscularity lined up with mine.
This lines up with our previous survey and with attractiveness research overall study. In this study by Dr. Sell et al. The stronger a man was, the more muscular he looked, and the more attractive he was rated. According to Dr. Again, this lines up with the results of our previous survey as well as attractiveness research overall. Even the obese woman got 20 votes out of 1, This aligns well with our previous survey results and the overall body of research study.
So once again, men want a more extreme physique than women prefer. The next thing I wanted to look at was upper-body vs lower-body proportions. But is that what women actually find most attractive? It seems that a slight majority of women prefer a balanced, athletic body. Some women, though, prefer when extra attention is given to either the lower or upper body.
Nothing crazy here, but perhaps it hints that putting extra work into our upper bodies is misguided. More on this in a second. The next spread showed a side angle, this time comparing upper-body muscles against butt size. The above photos suggest that women prefer a balanced approach to building muscle, right?
When we asked women which muscles men should give the most emphasis, they chose arms first, then chest, then shoulders, and then abs. These are the exact muscles that men are notorious for prioritizing in the gym, and they line up exactly with what women say they prefer. The thing is, women prefer a lesser degree of muscularity than men. The other thing I noticed in attractiveness research was that some studies used the shoulder-to-waist ratio as the most important aspect of attractiveness, whereas others used the chest-to-waist ratio.
We compared them against one another. Women said the chest is one of the best muscles to prioritize after arms , they listed push-ups as the best exercise for improving our physiques, and they chose the illustration of the man with the bigger chest. It seems that when guys prefer the bench press and biceps curls, their preference lines up fairly well with what women prefer. This specific question is the main reason I wanted to do this survey.
I was curious. These results surprised me. It seems that most attractiveness research points to more formidable men being rated as more attractive. Having a thicker neck is an important part of formidability, so I had a feeling the athletic neck would be rated as the most attractive. And it was. Out of the women we surveyed, only two said it was attractive for a guy to stake steroids. Overall, over This answer is somewhat incorrect. Steroids make achieving any degree of muscularity and leanness easier.
For instance, some guys use steroids or TRT so that they can get shredded without suffering from the symptoms of low testosterone. According to research from the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, women are most attracted to men whose faces inspire their proclivity to nurture with their desire to mate with a sexually mature partner, the LA Times reports. Women want a compassionate-looking good guy and a bad boy that exudes sexual power.
Basically women have made up their mind to not make up their mind. Oh, the allure of bad boys. A study from the University of British Columbia found that women are less sexually attracted to happy guys than brooding men. Warning: you may become sulky after reading this. While a smile is essential to social interactions, women were more attracted to men who looked proud, powerful and yes, a little moody at first-glance.
Women are detail-oriented. Bigger hands also relate to masculinity, though you probably knew that already. They find heavy beards, light stubble and clean-shaven faces to be less attractive. However, women associate full beards with good health and parenting ability—something to think about for the future, perhaps. Your body's tight, stiff, and a total mess? Here's how to take care of those rough spots. Not every ache requires a trip to the ER.
